The Identity Files: The Surveillance & The Cyber Agents

By Rtr. Nuha RiwazEditorial
Rtr. Abdullah Thahir and Rtr. Avanthi Jayamani featured as the King and Queen of Diamonds in a red-and-black card-themed board reveal for the 2026–27 Rotaract year.

Case File #02 presents an unusual pairing. On one side, we have a suspect capable of documenting practically every event while operating on suspiciously high levels of energy. On the other, a cybersecurity specialist armed with endless stories, questionable life advice, and a habit of making unattended belongings disappear.

Somehow, both have been cleared for the same assignment.

Meet Rtr. Avanthi Jayamani and Rtr. Abdullah Thahir, our Directress and Director of Regional Engagement (RE) for 2026–27. Different operating styles, same mission: keeping connections strong and the wider Rotaract circle engaged.

There’s never a dull moment when Avanthi and her contagious laughter are involved. Hear her laughing from across the room and chances are you’ll start laughing too without even knowing why. Combine that with her chaotic energy, and you have someone who appears suspiciously high on life while being completely, undeniably sober.

Side Hustles

Avanthi appears to maintain several unofficial occupations alongside Regional Engagement:

  • Alleged CEO behind the suspicious operations of Green Plant Pvt. Ltd., with a concerning willingness to approve questionable business plans.
  • Teacher material at heart, despite currently being a student herself.
  • Better known as “Instants Avanthi,” she documents practically everything around her. If she was there, chances are the photographic evidence exists.

Soft-spoken and sarcastic, Abdullah comes with enough heartbreak, supernatural encounters, and questionable adventures to keep an entire room entertained. Give him an audience and one story can quickly become a full production, whether it involves high-school heartbreak, jinns, or another chapter from his seemingly endless collection of life experiences.

Life, Lore & Minor Offences

  • A Cybersecurity student with a suspicious talent for stealth, jump scares, and mysteriously relocating unattended belongings.
  • Leave him unsupervised for five minutes and he’ll probably be blasting his infamous breakup playlist, dancing around his little tech room, or beginning another unnecessary adventure.
  • The unofficial “Unc” and budget therapist who is always ready to listen without judgement, pass down some slightly unhinged wisdom, and be one of the first to help when someone genuinely needs him. He’s best summed up as the perfect combination of “I’ll help you” and “I’ll also be the reason you got into this situation.”

With Avanthi’s contagious energy and instinct for capturing every moment, paired with Abdullah’s easygoing nature and ability to turn any conversation into a story, Regional Engagement has a duo made for building connections and keeping people involved.

Welcome to the board, Avanthi and Abdullah! We can’t wait to see you Lead Beyond Limits, even if Avanthi is documenting the evidence while Abdullah is making it mysteriously disappear.
